BIRD: Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial R&D Foundation to Invest $8 Million in 10 New Projects E During its meeting on June 23, 2020, held via video conference, the Board of Governors of the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation approved $8 million in funding for ten new projects between U.S. and Israeli companies. Samsung Leads Semiconductor Paradigm Shift With New Material Discovery E Researchers at the Samsung Advanced Insti- tute of Technology (SAIT) unveiled the dis- covery of a new material, called amorphous boron nitride (a-BN), in collaboration with Ul- san National Institute of Science and Technol- ogy (UNIST) and the University of Cambridge. Published in the journal Nature, the study has the potential to accelerate the advent of the next generation of semiconductors.
