Substrates: Last November, IPC released a data-rich report on advanced packaging. e biggest takeaway from the report was the need for the U.S. to build IC substate capabilities and capacities, both to meet U.S. national security needs but also to accommodate increased domestic production of chips. So, it was exciting to speak to a handful of companies at APEX EXPO that are actively working to build new substrate manufacturing capabilities. One company, in fact, had an IC substrate in hand—fresh from the factory floor just two weeks ago. e progress that compa- nies are making affirms just how dynamic and future-oriented our industry is. 10. Clumpy and Kloumpios Return: And finally, Clumpy and Kloumpios made their own return to APEX EXPO.
