8 PCB007 MAGAZINE I MAY 2022 Nolan's Notes by Nolan Johnson, I-CONNECT007 Where Are the Golden Eggs? We all went through the simultaneous tran- sitions in our industry in the last three years. To be clear, I'm referring to supply chain issues due to the pandemic, manufacturing channel resiliency, parts shortages, people shortages, governmental investment in infra- structure, and above all, a huge demand for manufacturing capacity. All that demand, all those hurdles, and the all the constraints can leave one a little dizzy. e reality is that we'll feel both short- and long-term impacts from these trends. Over the past couple years, the I-Connect007 mag- azines have covered these topics extensively. I encourage you to go back through our cover- age. e U.S. government is following the lead of other nations to fund domestic expansion of semiconductor production, and now printed circuit boards as well. Kudos to IPC and the nascent PCBAA for their work to educate the government agencies on the importance of PCBs in the strategic plan.
