Currently serving as director of gov- ernment development, Edwards will replace Chris Peters who will continue with the orga- nization as a senior advisor, providing continu- ity and focus on special projects. As executive director of USPAE, Edwards will be respon- sible for establishing and growing the organi- zation to help ensure the U.S. government has access to trusted, secure, and resilient electron- ics supply chains. BAE Systems, Microsoft Join Forces to Equip Defence Programmes with Innovative Cloud Technology E BAE Systems and Microso have signed a stra- tegic agreement aiming to support faster and easier development, deployment and man- agement of digital defence capabilities in an increasingly data-centric world. Fresh PCB Concepts: PCBs for Harsh and Extreme Environments, Part 2 E Designing a PCB for a non-demanding envi- ronment can be a daunting task . There are many issues to consider, especially as you make certain decisions. But when I think about some of the challenges unique to extreme environ- ments, I am amazed at the robust technology that is available. ere are also negative effects of altitude, vibration, shock, and heat that plague the electronics systems that we rely on every day. Panel Discussion: CMMC and Cybersecurity E e electronics manufacturing sector faces unique challenges when it comes to cyberse- curity, given the highly sensitive nature of the information that it handles. With the intro- duction of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework, businesses will soon be required to meet specific, more stringent cybersecurity standards to bid on Department of Defense contracts. Inmarsat Government Completes Cross-country Demonstrations of L-TAC Service E Inmarsat Government, the leading provider of secure, global, resilient, mission-criti- cal telecommunications to the U.S. govern- ment, announced it successfully completed cross-country, multi-site demonstrations of Inmarsat's L-band Tactical Radio (L-TAC) service. Lightning Speed Laminates: Optimizing Thermal Management for Wireless Communication Systems E e term wireless communication has been around for many years, and it can mean many different things. e wireless communication between your mouse and your computer is very different than the wireless communica- tion between a satellite and its ground station. e PCBs that are used for wireless communi- cations are as diverse as the term. As a general statement, a more complex wireless commu- nication system will require a more complex PCB.
