Field Application Engineer SAKI America, manufacturer of automat- ed optical, solder paste, and X-ray inspection and measurement systems for the electronics industry, seeks a Field Application Engineer, based in its Fremont, California headquarters. Responsibilities include communicating with customers, sales representatives, and perti - nent Saki personnel to understand the cus- tomers' applications, assist in equipment se- lection, perform equipment installation, and provide assembly process assistance, training, support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ser vices for Saki's products and technologies, at SAKI America's headquarters, regional offic - es, and customer sites. Perform product and process demonstrations and presentations to customers, agents, and colleagues, assist with trade show activities, and work with facto - ry and development teams to communicate new product ideas and customer suggestions/ requests. Job requirements: two-year technical de - gree (four-year preferred) or equivalent expe- rience. 3-5 years combined experience in cus- tomer and technical support with 5-7 years in SMT manufacturing process with SPI and AOI understanding. The ideal candidate will have experience running and programming SPI and AOI systems. Competencies should in - clude excellent verbal and written communi- cation skills, a working knowledge of comput- er-based business applications, understand- ing SPC collection and use in a manufactur- ing environment, problem-solving skills, use of tools such as Six Sigma, and electronics/ electromechanical troubleshooting capabili- ty.
