Satellite Will Help Predict Climate Change

The Orbiting Carbon Observatory satellite will monitor carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere and help scientists understand the lifecycle of carbon on Earth. The satellite measures reflected sunlight: After the sunlight hits Earth's surface, it bounces back up toward space and the wavelengths within that light change depending on what's in the atmosphere.
