Burt Rutan's Keynote: SpaceShipOne E
In this video clip from his presentation, Burt
Rutan discusses some of his aircraft's revolu-
tionary flights that drew the most public at-
tention, including SpaceShipOne, which flew
three of the five manned space flights launched
by man in 2004. He also explains the benefits
of working with Microsoft's Paul Allen, who
agreed to fund SpaceShipOne based on a sim-
ple handshake.

FLIR Inks $23M USAF Order for Centaur
Unmanned Ground Vehicles E
FLIR Systems announced that the United States
Air Force ordered more than 180 of the com-
pany's Centaur unmanned ground vehicles
(UGV), plus spares. The $23 million contract
is sourced through the Dept. of Defense Man
Transportable Robotic System Increment II
(MTRS Inc II) program.

view (CDR) for the High Energy Laser with In-

LIOS) system.

BAE Systems Secures $188 Million Contract
for U.S. Navy's AEGIS Combat System E
BAE Systems Inc. was awarded a five-year
$188.2 million contract to provide the U.S.
Navy's AEGIS Technical Representative (AE-
GIS TECHREP) organization with critical large-
scale system engineering, integration, and test-
ing expertise for the AEGIS Weapons and Com-
bat Systems aboard U.S. Navy surface combat-
ant ships.
