Asia and North America have com- pletely different work cultures and manage- ment styles, not to mention language. Davis: at's true. e international flair and the regionalization make it difficult, especially when you have time zones and a lack of English communication. English is the "default stan- dard," but when you're designing and building in China, it makes it a little bit easier to pick up the phone and call them. Oen, when you get something coming back from companies in some regions, their English is challenging— I think that's the polite way of putting it. You get these spreadsheets with translated Eng- lish. It doesn't exactly work great for Microso spreadsheets. Matties: How important are the tools today to help streamline the process? Is AI becoming a factor in design? Davis: I think it is going to become a factor. It's just a matter of time. I think what will end up happening is people are going to start to figure out how to do predictive analysis. Matties: e market opportunity, I would think, is huge for a tool like this.
