Un- der the guidance of the Global Biorisk Advi- sory Council (GBAC), the convention center is implementing a program of stringent proto- cols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention. Centerplate, the food and beverage provid- er for the San Diego Convention Center, was the first North American venue to achieve the Rise SAFE hygiene verification label for food and beverage services. To earn the label, Cen- terplate passed a site audit and protocol re- view covering 36 checkpoints in four core ar- eas: process, people/training, facilities, and hygiene/cleaning.
