80 DESIGN007 MAGAZINE I OCTOBER 2022
Part 2: The Printed Electronics
Roundtable E
We recently held a roundtable with a team of
printed electronic circuit experts from compa-
nies that run the gamut: John Lee and Kevin
Miller of Insulectro, Mike Wagner of Butler
Technologies, Tom Bianchi of Eastprint, and
John Voultos of Sheldahl Flexible Technolo-
gies. In this second part of the roundtable, the
participants discuss what designers and fabri-
cators need to know to jump into printed elec-
tronics, and some of the drivers behind this
growing technology.

Print, Recycle, Repeat: Scientists
Demonstrate a Biodegradable
Printed Circuit E
According to the United Nations, less than a

57.4 million tons, and only 17.4% of that was
recycled.
Flexible Thinking: The Rapidly Expanding
Realm of Stretchable Circuits E
Flexible circuit technology has been rising
ever higher on the radar of those charged with
designing next generation electronic products
for ever y imaginable application, from the
mundane to the highly exotic. e technol-
ogy is being embraced by a growing fanbase as
they become increasingly aware of flex circuit
technology's numerous benefits.
FCT: Powerful Growth in the
Flex Segment E
Aer the initial impact of the global pandemic
led to a somewhat flat 2020, Carey Burkett, vice
