IPC COMMUNITY 30 SPRING 2024 As IPC's director of workforce partnerships, Cory Blaylock was hired to lead the IPC Apprenticeship National Program Standards. Last year, she received the 2023 IPC Excellence in Education Award, which is given to individuals who have made a significant contribution and demonstrated leadership in workforce development while building a culture of continu- ous learning within their organization and across the industry. At the time of the award, Cory was working for Lockheed Martin. The follow- ing includes some excerpts from an interview with Cory after she received the IPC award. Cory Blaylock: Because without it, people can miss out on great opportunities that could be life-changing, and I'm a perfect example of that myself. I came to the elec- tronics manufacturing industry by way of the scenic route. I spent the first 12 years of my career as an educator in the public school system. I left the classroom in 2015 to begin a new career at Lockheed Martin.
