IPC has been advancing our
industry since it was founded
more than 60 years ago,
but it could not have been
done without the volunteer
efforts of so many members.
Each year, some members are recognized for their
significant contributions through the Raymond E.
Pritchard Hall of Fame Award (HOF). This month we
recognize and honor Patty Goldman.
As a PCB design engineer,
your focus is on creat-
ing innovative, cost-effec-
tive designs. However, the
financial aspects behind
your designs—such as
depreciation—play a significant role in the over-
all business. While depreciation may sound like
"accounting speak," understanding it can help you
make better decisions for your projects, especially
when dealing with equipment, machinery, or even
intangible assets like software licenses.
STARTEAM GLOBAL is proud to
announce its successful completion of
the Climate Ambition Accelerator pro-
gram, led by the United Nations Global
Compact. This program equipped
STARTEAM GLOBAL with the tools and
knowledge to set science-based emis-
sions reduction targets aligned with a
1.5°C global warming pathway.
In the 1980s, Electrochemicals, Inc. (now
Electrochemical Products) made a sig-
nificant shift from furniture and industrial
goods to electronics and manufactur-
ing. During this journey, a tin-nickel plat-
ing alloy was developed. In 1984, Mike
Carano, a young engineer, published a
paper on tin-nickel plating alloy, but after
some initial attention, the plating solution
fell into obscurity. We take another look
at tin-nickel and its advantages in both
performance and sustainability.
As a supplier of PCB wet processing
equipment, we inevitably find ourselv
es involved in helping customers
solve sudden process problems that
may or may not be caused by equip-
ment malfunctions. For the most part,
equipment problems are relatively
easy to identify and repair: sensors
for chemistry and equipment control,
clogged nozzles, etc.
Koh Young Technology, a
global leader in True 3D
measurement-based inspec-
tion solutions, is proud to
announce that Foxconn
honored us on November
15, 2024, with its prestigious
2024 Digital Ecosystem Partner Award. This
accolade underscores the strength of the strategic
partnership between Koh Young and Foxconn.
