48 DESIGN007 MAGAZINE I JANUARY 2025 Techniques of Interconnection in Electronics: An Engineering Design Roadmap to Advanced Integration and Knowledge Integration Cosmin Moisa and Marcel Manofu • Continental Automotive Why is your PEDC class important? Electronics pack- aging has become an increasingly impor- tant topic in recent times. Within the current trend of het- erogeneous integra- tion, interconnection technologies must be very well under- stood and properly used. From this per- spective, the presen- tation aims to highlight the modality through which the future workforce is trained in accordance to requirements of the industry. What can attendees expect from your class? Participants will have the opportunity to follow an integrative approach to the way in which the extracurricular training of students, the future engineers, involved in the activities of innovation and development of electronic products is carried out. Topics such as PCB design, signal integrity and power analysis, thermal management, and chiplets' intercon- nection are consid- ered, topics in which industry specialists and teaching staff are co-participants. Industry specialists propose topics that are then solved by stu- dents. e solutions given by the students are analyzed by teams formed of industry experts and academic staff. What do you hope each attendee takes away from your class? e attendees will be in contact with a well-established self-sustainable environment focused on shaping future professionals for the benefit of electronics industry. e synergy of the industry-academia "binomial" in Romania represents the driving force for a successful education and training of the future workforce required by the electronics industry. PCB Design for Programmability (DFP) Influence of the PCB Design and the Programming System on the Assembly Production Pietro Poletto • Algocraft Why is your PEDC class important? I believe it will pro- vide the opportunity to share experiences and visions with des- ign engineers, who will learn about new tech- nological and innovative concepts to apply to their day-to-day reality. What can attendees expect from your class? I expect to make attendees aware about designing boards for efficient programmability as a bridge between R&D and production, to enable greater optimization of these processes. What do you hope each attendee takes away from your class? I hope to enhance the attendees' understanding of design for programmability, in parallel with the design of the board, and to perhaps receive feed- back that allows for an exchange of knowledge.
