IPC COMMUNITY 82 SPRING 2025 L ast year was big for apprenticeships, workforce partnerships, and funding at IPC. We launched two apprenticeship occupations approved by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL): electronics assembler and PCB design engineer, with a third, PCB fabricator, soon to be released. Our team also prepared to introduce a fourth occupation: wire harness tech- nician/operator. This expansion is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the electronics manufactur- ing sector through skilled training. Expanding Workforce Participation Our apprenticeship programs are notable for their diversity, with nearly 75% of participants coming from underrepresented populations. This achievement reflects the strong commitment of our partners to recruiting a diverse workforce, which enriches the programs with various perspectives and enhances the industry's dynamic nature. Together, we provide valu- able career advancement opportunities that contribute to a more inclusive and vibrant workforce.
