56 PCB007 MAGAZINE I JUNE 2025 is represents the image of Chinese com- panies. Overseas customers are familiar with the high standards of "Made in China." In terms of human resources, we give prior- ity to local employees, including in manage- ment. We improve the quality of our employ- ees by providing a complete training system. Did you transfer Chinese supervisors and managers to Vietnam at the beginning? And if so, are they still in Vietnam? Yes, initially we sent Chinese management teams to our Vietnam factory, and 10 manag- ers are still there. Do you have a centralized customer service department that determines where orders will be manufactured? Do your customers have to order from a specific factory directly? Most customers require that the production be done in our Vietnam factory and that a certificate of origin be issued. Some custom- ers also specify one or both of our China fac- tories. Both Vietnam and Chinese factories will always be audited simultaneously, so we have customer service in both countries. What do you think of the current investment boom in Southeast Asia? In the current political and economic envi- ronment, investment in Southeast Asia is an inevitable and irreversible trend. COVID, geopolitics, strained Taiwan Strait relations, and the Russia-Ukraine war have all made people realize that a single production base is vulnerable, and companies and our supply chain must be built to mitigate risks, espe- cially for basic industries such as PCBs. For overseas customers, it is crucial to ensure that the supply chain is stable and sustainable. erefore, although the cost of investing in Southeast Asia is very high, many companies still invest in ailand, Vietnam, and Malay- sia at the request of customers. is will pro- duce a cluster effect, and the logistics and sup- ply chain supporting costs will be reduced accordingly. China Plus One is alive. Do you have any suggestions for Chinese companies actively exploring setting up oper- ations in Vietnam as part of China Plus One? Everything must be carefully considered in minute detail. Taking shortcuts will end in fail- ure. One cannot assume that what works well in China will also work in Vietnam. Second, one has to abide by local culture, laws, and reg- ulations, because once you touch the red lines of local public security, finance, judicial, and taxation, you may face huge fines. So, don't lose the big picture by going aer the small. Finally, you need to prioritise employee train- ing and try to use local employees as much as possible. is saves costs, and local employees are more loyal and dedicated at work.
