Every manufacturing setup is unique and has its own operating model. 5. Data quality/data governance: AI/ML mod- els are sensitive to the quality of input data. Organizations looking to implement AI/ML should first focus on implementing Data Gov- ernance frameworks to ensure the quality of data fed to AI/ML models is complete and maintains its integrity. 6. Data security compliances: Data security policies vary widely among customers, influ- encing both data privacy measures and deployment strategies. In cases where on- premises-only deployment is required, it adds another layer of complexity. Addressing these challenges with careful plan- ning and strategic implementation can significantly enhance the chances of success for AI/ML initia- tives in manufacturing settings Experimental Methodology All the use cases and models discussed in this arti- cle are practically implemented at scale and cur- rently adopted by 35+ manufacturing sites world- wide, generating around 300+ GB of daily data. Models are run on 40 high-capacity nodes, which are capable of storing and processing years of his- torical data. Analytics results generated by these models are consumed by 1500+ daily users from dif- ferent industries like automotive, telecom, energy, aerospace and semiconductor. These solutions are closely integrated into customers' manufacturing processes, and they rely on model accuracy for the right decision-making. Results The path to implementing AI/ML in electronics man- ufacturing is accessible to most and well-tested by multiple organizations. By having clearly defined use cases and following the right approach, imme- diate benefits such as improved quality, predic- tive maintenance, reduced manual efforts, and enhanced operational efficiency can be realized.
