Failure modes and effects
analysis (FmEA) is a system-
atic process to evaluate fail-
ure modes and causes asso-
ciated with the design and
manufacturing processes of
a new product. It is some-
what similar to the poten-
tial problem analysis (PPA)
phase of the Kepner-Tregoe program.
