Sharp to Acquire Toshiba

Sharp is acquiring Toshiba's personal computer
business, bringing new dynamics to the note-
book market. Sharp has shuttered its own
PC business previously, but this deal may be
associated with the strategic development of
Foxconn Technology Group, says WitsView, a
division of TrendForce.

has signed an agreement to
purchase substantially all
of the assets and assume
certain liabilities of GES
Holdings Inc., Global Equip-
ment Services and Manufacturing Inc., and
its subsidiaries, for approximately $50 million
plus the assumed liabilities.
