EMS Transactions Down in Q3 2018 E In Q3 2018, there was one vertical/horizontal convergence—the same amount recorded in Q2 2018, or roughly 17% of total activity for this quarter. The 2018 DRAM market is expected to show an in- crease of 39%—a solid follow-up to the 77% growth in 2017. Total Fab Equipment Spending Reverses Course, Growth Outlook Revised Downward E Total fab equipment spending in 2019 is pro- jected to drop 8%, a sharp reversal from the previously forecast increase of 7% as fab in- vestment growth has been revised downward for 2018 to 10% from the 14% predicted in August. EMEA Server Spending Increased by 24.5% Year Over Year in 3Q18 E International Data Corporation's (IDC) EMEA Server Tracker shows that in the third quar- ter of 2018, the EMEA server market reported a year-over-year increase in vendor revenues of 24.5% to $4.0 billion and a year-over- year increase of 2.9% in units shipped to 551,000.
