Upon completion of a 1–2-year apprentice- ship, this position will be elevated to facility/operations manager. Primary functions during training: shadow incumbent staff managers to learn and understand the operations and personnel of the operations depart - ment. This position will train and learn, develop, imple- ment, and coordinate strategies related directly to the manufacture of Taiyo products. Additionally, this posi- tion will be learning all about the facility, environment, and health and safety functions. Eventually, this posi- tion will be responsible for the administration, security and maintenance of the facility and warehouse Required Experience/Education: • 4-year college degree in industrial engineering or another similar science discipline combined with work experience in ink or coatings manufacturing • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community • Ability to develop and implement goals, objectives, and strategies • Ability to effectively present information to top man- agement, public groups, and/or boards of directors • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems • Knowledge of governmental safety, environmental, transportation regulations/laws Preferred Skills/Experience: • Bilingual (Japanese/English) • Toyota Production System (TPS) Working Conditions: • Occasional weekend or overtime work See complete job listing for more information. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Training in the area of high-speed materials will be provided; the successful candidate will promote AGC high frequency materials. • Visit companies that could employ flex circuitry or rigid/flex circuitry to promote AGC solutions/materials. • Build an OEM customer base for AGC flexible materials; support design work around AGC materials. • Visit fabricators building high-speed or high temperature rigid/flex circuitry. • Participate in industry consortium, assist in publication of technical articles. • Work from a home-based office; relocation not required. • Domestic US travel required. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • BS degree in a relevant technical discipline. • Industry expert in either rigid or flex circuitry design. • Extensive experience in the high-speed cable and connector industry. • Familiarity with the high-speed cable & connector industry and the customers that are converting designs to high speed flex circuitry. • The candidate could come from the rigid/flex fabricator base and have familiarity with the manufacture and design of multilayer rigid/flex circuitry.
