REAL TIME WITH... IPC APEX EXPO 2022 SHOW & TELL MAGAZINE I I-CONNECT007 167 both the opportunities, challenges, and obsta- cles the industry and technology will face in the years to come. Another keynote worth mentioning is the flaming one held by IPC President John Mitch- ell, pinpointing the Factory of the Future. As he said, it is now. It's like playing ball; to stay ahead you cannot stay where the ball is, you need to be where the ball is going. e big question is how to know where it will end up. As Mitchell discussed in his speech, many fac- tors influence this. You have the influence of ESG, supply chain resilience, skilled work- force, technological requirements, operational efficiencies, and customer expectations. Last year's pandemic situation has for sure shown us the strengths and weaknesses of the supply chain and forced us to think differently about securing an agile yet flexible supply chain. Undoubtingly we need to continue with a long-term perspective; as Mitchell said, many North American companies have had a too nar- row focus on the quarterly reports and results, making the wide and futuristic perspective harder. e future is now; if one wants to join, jump onto the future express. Another milestone or moment we will never forget is the filming of the sequel to Jan´s video when he received the IPC Dieter Berg- man Scholarship Award. e sequel stars John Mitchell in person, and we can tell, he knocks David Hasselhoff or any Baywatch babe into the sand. at man really knows how to run in slow motion at the beach. anks, John, for joining us on this crazy idea. We le the conference and show filled with knowledge, new acquaintances, good memo- ries, and new friends. anks for a great IPC APEX EXPO. See you in 2023. S&T Team PCB Norsemen consists of John Steinar Johnsen, Jan Pedersen, Didrik Bech, and Raymond Goh. To read past columns, or contact Elmatica, click here.
