JANUARY 2025 I PCB007 MAGAZINE 79 Marine Corps had given me a lot of admin- istrative experience with managing big work- loads. Now, I'm working on the inventor y management system that we created to track all the parts. I work with suppliers on all pur- chase orders. It's different from what I have done previously, but I really enjoy it, espe- cially working with the team here at DIS. We are a ver y close-knit group, a family-like cul- ture, which reminds me a lot of the Marine Corps, and I love that. What do you each like most about your jobs? What has surprised you about coming to work at DIS? Moore: What I like most is the creative free- dom we have here—because our leaders don't micromanage. Tony shows us a design and gives us the creative freedom and flexibility to grow and learn new skills. In my case, that is especially true in soware programming. He recognizes that there are so many ways to do a single task. So, I have the flexibility to learn new ways to optimize our soware and make our equipment better. I can grow in my talents in my current job and, in the process, make our machines better for our customers. It is fulfilling to grow your skills in your exist- ing job, and helps to make for a career, not just a job. How about you, Emily? Telesca: One thing I've appreciated is that Tony puts a lot of trust in me to take care of our inventory and manage this whole new sys- tem. ere really wasn't an inventory system when I started, and he let me go with it and decide how we would keep track of every- thing. He trusted that I would figure it out and do well for the company. As Ryan said, there is no micromanaging. Instead, we are told, "is is what needs to get done, so get it done." We can come up with our own ideas and present those to him. Usually, he says, "Go for it; let's see it happen." Ryan Moore
