DECEMBER 2025 I DESIGN007 MAGAZINE 25 This year, we have had even more high-qual- ity abstract submissions, which led us to schedule three parallel tracks for the second day, whereas last year we only had two for the whole confer- ence. These tracks are Silicon-to-Systems; AI, Soft- ware & Tools; Sustainable Design, Product Life Cycle (PL), and AI. The first day will be filled with keynotes and pan- els in special sessions. What is the value for PCB designers and design engineers to attend PEDC? First, if you were to ask the participants about the value of the first PEDC, they would likely attribute it to the outstanding networking opportunities. We scheduled enough time for checking in and casual interaction during the breaks and lunches, and we are facilitating a large reception at the end of the first day. Next, our program addresses the hot topics in Europe: Co-design and co-optimization using simulation tools and AI beyond PCB and PCBA; the progress and application of software and tools; and design for excellence and sustainable design aspects throughout the product life cycle. Hot topics also include what the design process will look like in 2030, how to reduce energy consumption in AI data cen- ters, Sense-Control-Commu- nicate trends, challenges in defense electronics, and how Single Pair Ethernet influences electronics design. Last year in Vienna, Austria, attend- ees were a "who's who" of the Euro- pean design landscape. We are con- vinced that this will be the case again in Prague. What can designers expect to take away from this show? We want designers to walk away with the knowledge of what is possible today with AI and in which direction it is developing for designers, as well as about electronic co-design and multi-physics-simulation, and how they will help decide time-to-market for products, and the suc- cess of complex products. Finally, they should dis- cover paths that designers can take to consider and implement sustainability into their product life- cycles during the early design phase. What need does the show fulfill? How does it compare with similar events in the region? PEDC is unique because it is pan-European. There are national conferences in different Euro- pean languages regionally, but we bring the indus- try together across Europe. In Vienna for the first event, we hosted 20 different nations: 15 from Europe and five around the globe. This interna- tional collaboration is important and will continue to increase. Additionally, we implemented a strict non-com- mercialism policy for our technical submissions. Our Technical Program Committee took great care to ensure it was applied and adhered to across all presentations. These two things distinguish PEDC from other European events. Is there anything else you'd like to add? We are excited to come together in the beautiful city of Prague, which is rich in history. We look forward to meeting the Euro- pean and international design community once again in per- son. All information is available, and the registration is open at www.pedc.eu.
