What Level 2 Requires CMMC Level 2 is among the most demanding cybersecurity standards applied to the Defense Industrial Base (DIB); it's the commercial ecosystem of manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors that keeps the U.S. military equipped and operational. Achieving it requires organizations to imple- ment and demonstrate adherence to all 110 secu- rity controls outlined in NIST Special Publication 800-171 Revision 2, codified in Title 32, Part 170 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Level 2 certification requires an independent Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) to verify that every control is in place and functioning, and not simply documented on paper. Naprotek's assessment was conducted by KLC Consulting, Inc., an authorized C3PAO. The result: Naprotek's enterprise information environment was confirmed to meet Department of Defense require- ments for handling CUI, with certification valid from May 16, 2026, through May 15, 2029. That distinction carries real weight for procure- ment teams. CMMC Level 2 requires a qualified outside organization to examine an EMS provid- er's people, systems, and documented processes before any certification is issued. For prime contrac- tors and program offices managing supplier compli- ance, a C3PAO-verified certification is a docu- mented, auditable answer to questions that other- wise require time-consuming supplier evaluations.
