I am hopeful we can find a way to make this happen, that the Global Electronics Association will remain a good partner with us, understand some of the more unique aspects of our community, and that we will find a way to give our voices more influence in the overall process. It's a delicate balance. You obviously speak in terms of Italy, but is that more or less true across Europe? No. For instance, Italy is the second largest de- sign chapter in Europe after France, which is much larger and more active. But French people think and work differently from Italians. Europeans work/ think/behave differently depending on the country they live in, so we cannot "standardize" how each chapter acts by doing things the same way as in other countries; that doesn't work well, at least, this is my experience. Pietro, I understand that the CID curriculum is now out of date. What is being done to address that? Yes, the CID and CID+ materials are 10 years old and are no longer adequate. So, I'm more challenged during classes, as students ask me questions about new design technologies and methodologies that aren't covered in the current material. As a trainer, I want to add value, open the discussion, and share my experience. A few months ago, I sent the sylla- bus to a customer and informally asked him to study the guide because we would discuss it during the class. It's also on the examination. He called me, concerned, saying, "But the material in this guide is old." I had to say, "You're right, the material is not up- dated, and what's not in the guide will be discussed during the class." So, to provide a valuable education to students, we have to teach around the curriculum. Luckily, at the end of the day, even though the material is not updated, the process is still there, and the idea is to learn the process and the challenges designers face. I know the Association is aware of it. But this is something that needs to be addressed, and quickly. Thank you, Pietro.
