To truly increase the number of American man-
ufacturing jobs, President Trump should support
increased investment in research and develop-
ment for advanced manufacturing, promote and
fund STEM education in primary and secondary
schools, and build stronger apprenticeship pro-
grams. It is this type of investment—in human
capital and technology—that will truly help make
American manufacturing great again.

BAE Systems has been chosen for a position on a new
eight-year, $3 billion indefinite delivery, indefinite
quantity (IDIQ) contract to continue supporting the
U.S. Army's Space and Missile Defense Command/
Army Forces Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT).
HT Global Circuits Acquires Pho-Tronics
HT Global Circuits, a manufacturer of printed cir-
cuit boards, has acquired fellow PCB manufactur-
er Pho-Tronics for an undisclosed sum. Pho-Tronics
will continue to be operated by the existing man-
agement team.

University of Washington researchers have shown
that Google's new tool that uses machine learning
to automatically analyze and label video content
can be deceived by inserting a photograph peri-
odically and at a very low rate into videos.

As President Trump was being sworn in and as the
new Congress was getting down to work, IPC re-
leased its Global Policy Framework for 2017. As we
work to represent more than 3,800 member facili-
ties across the electronics industry's global supply
chain, IPC will adhere to this framework to guide
our policy work in the coming months.
