Lion Semiconductor Inc. announced it is work-
ing with Renesas Electronics Corporation, a
supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions,
to develop ultra-high-speed wireless charging
solutions with up to 50W for use in flagship
smartphones and other mobile devices.
BIRD: Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial
R&D Foundation to Invest $8 Million in
10 New Projects E
During its meeting on June 23, 2020, held via
video conference, the Board of Governors of the
Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and
Development (BIRD) Foundation approved $8
million in funding for ten new projects between
U.S. and Israeli companies. In addition to the
grants from BIRD, the projects will access pri-
vate sector funding, boosting the total value of
all projects to approximately $20 million.
Bosch Launches Longevity Program for
Industrial, IoT Applications E
Bosch Sensortec is launching a longevity pro-
gram and expanding its product portfolio to meet
the specific needs of industrial applications. By
ensuring products will be available for 10 years,
this new program will give customers peace of
mind, as well as access to high-performance, ro-
bust sensors, and increased purchasing flexibil-
ity due to smaller reel sizes.

Samsung Leads Semiconductor
Paradigm Shift With New Material

Researchers at the Samsung Advanced Insti-
tute of Technology (SAIT) unveiled the dis-
covery of a new material, called amorphous
boron nitride (a-BN), in collaboration with Ul-
san National Institute of Science and Technol-
ogy (UNIST) and the University of Cambridge.
Published in the journal Nature, the study has
the potential to accelerate the advent of the
next generation of semiconductors.
