MARCH 2022 I SMT007 MAGAZINE 101
New data from IPC show that supply
chain challenges remain acute, but may
have peaked, while lead times remain
high. IPC's February economic update
and global electronics manufacturing
supply chain sentiment reports found
that high material and labor costs are expected to
continue for at least six months while recruiting and
finding skilled talent continues to be difficult.
One of the programs the IPC Edu-
cation Foundation is proud of is the
IPC Scholarships and Awards pro-
gram. 2021 was a year in which stu-
dents and teachers were recognized
for their commitment to the electron-
ics manufacturing industry. A total of
$38,000 was awarded.
Yes, the pandemic still here,
inflation is kicking in, labor
shortages are an issue, supply
chains are still disrupted. But
let's take a break from all that
and have some fun with X-rays.
How about going over some
facts that you may (or may not)
know about X-rays?

interesting conver-
sation with Nolan

Industrial Internet of
Things (IIOT) digital thread connected data flow.
As the move to smarter factories accelerates,
the need for managing and optimizing intercon-
nected sensors, instruments, and other devices
networked together increases.
Three IPC volunteers who have
fostered a collaborative spirit,
made significant contributions
to standards development, and
have consistently demonstrated
a commitment to global stan-
dardization efforts, were presented with Dieter Berg-
man IPC Fellowship awards at IPC APEX EXPO 2022.
