As a Hall of Fame member, Dan's legacy continues to inspire new generations of engineers, technologists, and business leaders. His engagement with the industry began in the early 1960s at Atlantic Research, where he set up a prototype PCB line. He then joined Trans/Circuits, where he became process engineering manager. He was approached to join an East Coast distributor providing sales and service for Dynachem, a then- fledgling company making photoresists. His career changed with this move, and he soon became Dynachem's Atlan- tic Regional Manager. Dan's ability to ana- lyze a situation, cre- ate and implement a plan, and drive to succeed made him an early "standout," which led to his ini- tial involvement with IPC (now the Global Electronics Associa- tion) in the late 1960s. In the early 1980s, Dan moved to Cali- fornia to succeed me as Dynachem's Vice President of Market- ing and Sales. In this role, he became even more involved with IPC. He received a number of promotions over the next decade, leading to his presidency of the company, which he had grown to $240 million, and later, became the Division Vice President for Morton, when it acquired Dynachem. Aer Morton, Dan founded Fein-Line Associates, Inc., specializing in management consulting, technology transfer, and new product marketing, as well as e Quantum Performance Group with Dr. Jim Hickman and me to perform major market studies. Dan was a board member of the Califor- nia Circuits Association. He was a found- ing member of the IPC Government Relations Commit- tee, where he chaired the Trade & Global Competitiveness sub- committee. He was a founder and chair of the Suppliers Man- agement Council & Steering Commit- tee, and championed IPC's first trade show. is event grew and morphed into IPC APEX EXPO, now the U.S.'s premier gathering for elec- tronics manufactur- ers and professionals. His foresight in estab- lishing a platform for knowledge exchange and networking has benefited thousands of industry mem- bers, allowing them to share technolog- ical advancements,
