L3Harris Appoints Ken Sharp Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Ken Bedingfield President of Missile Solutions ⊲ L3Harris Technologies announced the appoint- ment of Kenneth (Ken) Sharp as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effec- tive March 16. Kenneth (Ken) Bedingfield will focus exclusively on leading the Missile Solutions segment and rapidly scaling solid rocket motor manufacturing to meet the nation's urgent missile demand. Hellas Sat, CNES, Thales Alenia Space and Safran Sign Framework Cooperation Agreement ⊲ Operator Hellas Sat, the French Space Agency (CNES), Thales Alenia Space—a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%) —and Safran have signed a framework cooperation agreement to develop a next-generation optical communications system to be hosted on the future Hellas Sat 5 geostationary telecommunications satellite and the associated Optical ground station to be deployed in Cyprus. CCC, Curtiss-Wright Win 4-year Contract to Supply Helicopter Landing System to U.S. Navy ⊲ CCC is pleased to announce that it was awarded a four-year contract by the U.S. Department of Defense (U.S. DoD) to supply the U.S. Naval Air Warfare Centre with Recover Assist Securing and Traversing (RAST) systems. Under the contract, Curtiss-Wright's Mississauga, Ontario, facility, part of Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Systems, will manufacture the systems and provide technical field support to the U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center. Lockheed Martin's NGC2 Prototype Powers Live- Fire Mission Success at Lightning Surge 2 ⊲ During a live fires exercise at Lightning Surge 2, working in close collaboration with the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division (25ID) and Capability Program Executive Command and Control Infor- mation Network (CPE C2IN), the Lockheed Martin Team successfully demonstrated how their Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) proto- type enables soldiers to sense, see, and strike at distance across echelons. Sumitomo Heavy Industries, ARMADA Form Alliance to Support U.S. Navy in Japan ⊲ Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI) and IMIA, an operating company of ARMADA, announced the signing of their Alliance Agreement, launching a strategic partnership to support U.S. Navy opera- tions in Japan and surrounding regions. Chariot Defense Raises $34M Series A Led by Andreessen Horowitz ⊲ Chariot Defense, a defense technology company pioneering next-generation battlefield power systems, announced it has raised $34 million in Series A funding, bringing total funding to $41 million. Power is becoming the critical constraint across military operations. To solve this pressing challenge, Chariot Defense has built a deploy- able, software-defined power layer that senses, prioritizes, and routes power across mission-critical systems in real time, enabling warfighters to oper- ate without interruption, detectable signature, or wasted capacity. ST Engineering iDirect's European Center Chosen for NATO ESSM Block II Program ⊲ ST Engineering iDirect announced that its Manu- facturing Competence Center (MCC), located in Erpe-Mere, Belgium, has been selected by Raythe- on, an RTX business, to support the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM®) Block II program.
