This timely course cov- ered the design and application of standards- compliant press-fit pins and components, as well as proper standard implementation and process best practices. Tuesday's IPC Awards luncheon also honored several key figures in the automotive sector. Dr. Stan Rak of SF Rak Company, longtime contributor to automotive standards and education, as well as chair of the IPC Techni- cal Program Committee and member of the e-Mobility Quality and Reliability Advisory group, received the IPC President's Award for his ongoing leadership and significant contributions. Dr. Erika Crandall of TE Con- nectivity, and Hermann Eicher of EPT, were nominees for the Hillman-Lambert Award for Committee Volunteer of the Year. Tino Gon- zalez of ACME Training and Consulting was nominated for the Goldman-Kessler Award for Committee Leader of the Year. Members of the e-Mobility Quality and Reliability Advisory Council, which was formed following discussions at IPC APEX EXPO 2022, met face-to-face for the first time at a Sunday evening reception to celebrate the progress on inverter and battery manage- ment system considerations and the planned mid-2023 release of best practices recommenda- tions.
