IPC APEX EXPO 2023 SHOW & TELL MAGAZINE IPC APEX EXPO 2023 hosted the first India Pavilion in the event's history, showcasing 16 Indian companies promoting India's elec- tronics manufacturing capabilities. The ini- tiative was undertaken by India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry and implemented by the Indian government agency ESC India. As it is the Indian government's goal to expose Indian companies to the global mar- ket, Indian companies representing EMS, wire harness, material suppliers, design com- panies, and PCB manufacturers were part of the India Pavilion at IPC APEX EXPO 2023. The government of India places a high prior- ity on electronics hardware manufacturing, as it is one of the crucial pillars of "Make in India," "Digital India," and "Start-up India" programs, all geared toward ensuring that India becomes a global design and manufac- turing hub. India's electronics manufacturing produc- tion is led by mobile phones, IT hardware (laptops and tablets), consumer electronics (TV and audio), industrial electronics, auto- motive electronics, electronic components, LED lighting, strategic electronics, wearables, and telecom equipment production. India is poised to become a global manufactur- ing hub and is expected to export approxi- mately $120 billion by 2026. This market size explosion was catalyzed by the COVID-19-led growth of digital consumption. As electronics manufacturers seek to diversify global value chains, India has become an area of focus. The policy of "Make in India" and the large OEMs looking to "buy from India" have helped the EMS industry grow and helped solve supply chain issues. The Indian ESDM industry is focusing on PCB manufacturing within India and large companies are looking at invest- ment opportunities within the country.
