IPC COMMUNITY 86 SUMMER 2024 IPC Asia Reception Dinner To enhance communication with Asian visi- tors, the IPC Asia team hosted a reception dinner for technical experts and exhibitor representa- tives. IPC President and CEO Dr. John W. Mitchell and IPC Asia President Sydney Xiao welcomed the participants, thanking them for their involve- ment in IPC events and contributions to the industry. Attendees shared their experiences at APEX EXPO, discussed the industry's future, and contributed ideas to foster industry innovation and prosperity. Standards Task Group Meetings Representatives from Japan and South Korea joined several task group meetings, such as 5-22 A/7-31B, 7-31BV, D-33AA, 7-25A, 5-33 A, and 3-14 A, where they shared RTG proposals. Experts from China Greatech Substrates Co., Ltd. chaired the IPC-6921 technical group meeting, present- ing its A-team's work summary and future plans and discussing technical challenges and cases encountered in development. "IPC provides us with a professional plat- form for discussing standards and technolo- gies, enabling our technical team to engage with industry experts across different fields," says Jenna Xu, chair of the technical group. "During discussions on IPC-6921, we received positive feedback and valuable suggestions for improving the standard structure and content. These dis- cussions deepened our understanding of the dif- ferences between substrates and PCBs. Experts expressed anticipation for the official release of this standard, making our work more mean- ingful.
