IPC COMMUNITY 100 SUMMER 2024 Europe By Sanjay Huprikar, President, IPC Europe and South Asia Operations During the second quarter, we engaged the industry at nine important events: April • IPC APEX EXPO: We honored the service of 50 European committee and council volunteers during the annual European appreciation dinner in California. • Innoelectro: We exhibited and hosted a regional hand-soldering competition at the annual electronics trade show in Hungary. May • IPC Day: We inaugurated a new workshop to support a PCB design community in Italy. • FocusonPCB: We exhibited and hosted a regional hand-soldering competition at the annual electronics trade show in Italy. • IPC Day: We partnered with a licensed IPC training center to promote the value of IPC standards and workforce development pro- grams in Czechia. June • PCB Executives Summit: In Brussels, we met with the leaders of 15 of the largest PCB com- panies, key OEMs, and government agencies in the aerospace and defense sector to conduct a deep dive into the technology, capability, and capacity gaps in the European PCB supply chain. • Silicon-to-Systems: We joined IMAPS to co-host a meeting in Brussels with the Euro- pean Commission and key stakeholders across the advanced packaging value chain to launch an industry-wide advocacy cam- paign to bolster EU support for electronics manufacturing. • UK EMS Executives: We hosted a leadership meeting with 40 participants and six keynote speakers to address important challenges facing British manufacturing: workforce, fac- tory of the future, and global visibility. • Electronics Goes Green: We were thrilled to be a sponsor for this Fraunhofer-organized event in Berlin. With iNEMI, we co-hosted a workshop about next-generation sustain- ability standards. In addition, members of our standards and solutions teams were invited to speak at numer- ous conferences where we highlighted our con- tributions to design, molded electronics, and rework/repair. I am uber-proud of how the IPC Europe team engaged our members and served the electron- ics manufacturing industry during an active and energetic Q2 2024. The industry continues to provide us with timely and excellent feedback on what more we can do to uniquely help the European industry grow and enhance its com- petitiveness in the short and long runs. The common denominators for all meaningful IPC activities focus on building community and collaboration. Please contact PhilippeLeonard@ ipc.org if you have any questions about our events in Q3 and Q4.
