134 I-CONNECT007 I REAL TIME WITH... IPC APEX EXPO 2023 SHOW & TELL MAGAZINE Since joining IPC in 2018 as the organiza- tion's vice president for global government relations, I've made it a practice to compile a list of my top takeaways from the annual IPC APEX EXPO. So, on the heels of another great show at the end of January, here are the moments that captured my attention and have kept me invigorated. 1. IPC APEX EXPO is back. COVID may still be with us, but it's no lon- ger sidelining the industry's participation in events. This year's attendance numbers rivaled those of 2019—the show's prior high- water mark. But even more striking than the crowds on the show floor was the energy and excitement among everybody I spoke to. Exhibitors reported that they were locking down sales and solid leads, and those there for meetings were thrilled by their planned and unplanned interactions with peers. This year's show revealed an industry leaning into the future. Also notable was a strong inter- national contingent at IPC APEX EXPO 2023 with 16 Indian companies showcasing their products and services at the India Pavilion on the show floor. 2. Technical Conference delivers top quality content. In recent years, IPC has brought on new tal- ent—including CTO Matt Kelly and Profes- sional Development Manager Julia Gum- minger—to plan a top-notch technical pro- gram, and they delivered big time. They didn't do it alone, of course. A dedicated group of Top 10 Takeaways from IPC APEX EXPO 2023 by Chris Mitchell • IPC show review
