C O M M U N I T Y M A G A Z I N E 8 4 S U M M E R 2 0 2 5 The Global Elections Association's Europe Team executed eight exciting events in Q2 2025, book- ended by two IPC Day workshops: a focus on design tools and guidelines in France in early April, and a focus on the value of IPC training and certification in Bulgaria in late June. While all the events were well attended and created good visibility for the important challenges facing the electronics industry, the highlight of the quarter was the European Defence Electronics Summit on June 10 in Brussels with 75 high-level attendees and ADS as our co-host. The opportunity to create much needed dialogue between government and industry to drive resil- iency in the European electronics supply chain to support the growth of European defense and secu- rity was a significant milestone for the Association's advocacy efforts over the past five years. It attracted several high-level defense OEMs (Leonardo, Indra, Rheinmetall); semiconductor companies (Infineon, NXP, STMicroelectronics); EMS (Zollner, Asteelflash, Kitron); PCB manufacturers (AT&S, Elvia, KSG); national trade associations (Poland, Sweden, Ger- many); and three key Directorate-General depart- ments from the European Commission: • Defence Industry and Space (DEFIS) • Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CONNECT) • Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (GROW) During the third and fourth quarters of 2025, our team looks forward to engaging our European mem- bers at the following gatherings: • IPC Day EMS: Sept. 17–18, Paris, France • Electronics Manufacturing & Packaging Symposium (with the European Space Agency): Oct. 6–9, Noordwijk, Netherlands • productronica: Nov. 18–21, Munich, Germany Please contact PhilippeLeonard@electronics.org if you have any questions about our upcoming activities.
