IPC COMMUNITY 93 SPRING 2025 Southeast Asia IPC is excited to announce Ranee Ramya, Ph.D., as the new country manager for Malay- sia, who will drive growth and innovation in one of Asia's most vibrant electronics and semiconductor hubs. IPC has also outlined an exciting set of initiatives for the coming months, starting with forming a new standard development committee, focusing on driv- ing innovation, and establishing new benchmarks. The Member Engagement Program in February and March will offer valuable opportunities for collabora- tion and knowledge exchange. Gaurab Majumdar, IPC India executive director, visited Vietnam and Thailand to strengthen its presence there. Addition- ally, IPC is initiating the Advanced & Semiconductor Packaging Committee. These strategic steps reflect IPC's ongoing com- mitment to promoting industry growth, advancing technology, and fostering deeper collaboration across the regions. IPC Europe By Sanjay Huprikar, President, IPC Europe and South Asia Operations The IPC Europe Team kicked off the 2025 events season with the inaugural Pan-European Electronics Design Conference, Jan. 29-30, in Vienna, Austria. Co-developed with FED, a prominent German elec- tronics association and a licensed training center for delivering IPC certification programs, the con- ference was billed as "Design Meets AI: Innovating Electronics" and drew well over 100 attendees and 12 enthusiastic sponsors including key design software companies Altium, Cadence, and Zuken. Most of the attendees were best-in-class designers who hold positions in varied roles including design for excel- lence, advanced packaging development, and design processes. The overall feedback was strong, and the participants see great value in holding a similar event with updated content in 2026. IPC was pleased to be among thenearly 600 exhib- itors at the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics show, Feb. 4-6, in Farnborough, UK. We held the initial Hand Soldering Competition of the new year and engaged several of our EMS and PCB members with discussion topics ranging from best practices in sustainability to workforce training initiatives. During the second quarter of 2025, which is typically our busiest period, our team looks forward to engaging our European members at several significant industry gatherings: • IPC Day Design France: April 3–4, Toulouse, France • Innoelectro: April 8-10, Budapest, Hungary • IPC Day Design Italy: April 16, Milan, Italy • IPC Day Mil-Aero France (co-developed with Airbus): May 14 and 15, Toulouse, France • Focus on PCB: May 21–22, Vicenza, Italy • IPC Day Government Relations-Electronics Ecosystem Resiliency: June 10, Brussels, Belgium • Fourth Annual UK EMS Executives Meeting: June 12, London, UK Please contact PhilippeLeonard@ipc.org if you have any questions about our upcoming activities. IPC India By Arpita Das, Deputy Manager, Events and Communication, IPC India It has already been an eventful start to 2025, with many networking sessions in Q1 and Q2. With more than 100 attendees expected, these sessions address critical topics in the electronics manufacturing industry, including ESD, acceptability of printed boards, building electronics better for aerospace and defence, automotive electronics, and consumer electronics. They occur in cities like Mysore, Gand- hinagar, Mumbai, Goa, Colombo, and many more, focusing on practical areas like SMT, hand soldering, and conformal coating. IPC has also formed a dedicated committee focus- ing on mobile, telecom, and consumer electronics. A survey conducted by this committee identified key challenges in manufacturing processes, and a team of experts is currently working on creating a compre- hensive guideline document to address these issues.
