of chemical hazard assessments that offers accessible and trusted chemical hazard information on hundreds of thousands of chemi- cals. The science-based, nonprofit organization utilizes a data-shar- ing model so that companies can avoid duplicating expensive hazard assessments while accelerating the identification of safer alternatives. Shared chemical hazard data offers substantial advantages: • Lower cost, greater impact: By leveraging shared chemical hazard data, manufacturers can access critical information more affordably. • Coordinated progress on data challenges: The shared repos- itory creates a platform where data contributions from dif- ferent industry players have collective benefits. This unified approach allows companies to overcome data challenges more effectively and drive faster inno- vation on safer alternatives. • Building on a trusted founda- tion: A shared chemical hazard repository provides a reliable foundation of verified hazard data leading to low-hazard materials. This fosters trust within the industry and accel- erates the adoption of safer solutions. • Scaling up solutions: A data trust facilitates the scaling of solutions based on hazard assessments, helping the indus- try move more quickly toward safer materials and practices. Sharing chemical hazard data and alternatives within the indus- try promotes collaboration, solves shared challenges, maximizes resource efficiency, and drives greater impact. CleanScreen: A Collaborative Solution for Worker Safety Building on the chemical hazard Data Trust, and with support from IPC and leading electronics brands, ChemFORWARD developed Clean- Screen, a cloud-based app designed to help formulators create safer electronics cleaning formulations. CleanScreen is part of ChemFOR- WARD's ChemWorks hub, a registry of certified safer formulations as well as resources for formulators to screen and optimize their products with verified safer chemicals. Cleaners and degreasers are one of the highest use materials in elec- tronics assembly, so it is critical that they be as safe as possible in their formulation and usage. CleanScreen helps suppliers quickly assess whether a formu- lation is likely to meet IPC-1402, Standard for Green Cleaners Used in Electronics Manufacturing, requirements, allowing for efficient screening for compliance to help streamline third-party product cer- tifications. This tool saves time and costs while the reporting function gives companies a significant com- petitive edge. Benefits of CleanScreen • Quick screening: It evaluates for- mulations using a robust data- base, providing instant "pass/ fail" designations and hazard profiles for 95% of ingredients commonly used in commercial cleaners. • Confidentiality: Suppliers can redact chemical names to protect proprietary data while ensuring transparency on hazards. ChemFORWARD's Data Trust helps Electronics Safer Chemistry Collaborative members gain insights into ingredient functions and identify potentially safer alternatives (green and yellow), supporting more informed, sustainable choices.
