In 2019, Inorsen expanded to the Jiangsu Province as well as Vietnam, through the acquisition of the former SEWOO GLOBAL PCB factory, renamed Inorsen Vina CO., LTD. Located in the Phu o Province of Vietnam, Inorsen's Vietnam facility has an annual output of 1.2 million m 2 PCBs, primarily up to eight layers. General Manager Xu Lidong ( John Xu), who established the company in 2012 in Shenzhen, China, provides a detailed expla- nation for why he simultaneously expanded into Vietnam and China's Jiangsu Province. Manfred Huschka: Tell me why you decided to expand in Vietnam, and how it's going with the factory. John Xu: Vietnam borders China and is in a critical period of rapid development and modernisation. It has attracted many indus- trial electronics companies such as Sam- sung, Foxconn, LG, etc. Although these companies only assemble finished products in Vietnam, the acceleration of economic development and industrial transfer has led to the development of higher value-added processes such as product R&D. is led to our decision to invest in Vietnam. We are a market- and customer-oriented company, mainly ser ving nearby customers, although 24% of our Vietnam sales volume is from overseas customers. Looking back at the past few years, what challenges did you encounter? e initial investment in Vietnam was rela- tively large because land costs are quite high, investment policies and government support are not as strong as they are in China, and the cost of credit financing is much higher than in China. Additionally, the local supply chain still needs improvement. Because we must continuously improve our processes by our- selves, the entire investment and construc- tion cycle is much longer than in China. How have you worked to improve supply chain challenges? Because transportation and logistics between China and Vietnam are quite smooth, our raw materials are imported from China.
