IPC COMMUNITY 50 SPRING 2025 its ability to speak for manufacturing. Especially as a made-in-America company, it helps to have a body like IPC that collects the voices of so many members to be our representatives of Congress, especially in California, which can be a challenging place to work and manufacture. Are you part of any standards committees? We've been on and off in several groups with CFX being the latest one. I would love to be more involved, but my time is split between different activities, so I'm not part of any standards groups. What is the motivation to participate in standards groups or be part of an association? There are several layers. You have the human desire to give back and an innate desire to learn. Being part of an association gives you a place for both. You have a chance to network, and if you need to know something, you know who to call. A motivator for me was the opportunity to standardize the level of communication, especially when discussing standards with customers, so we weren't all in the same industry talking about the same things but using different words. That can get very confusing and be a massive waste of time. It's why IPC is so successful. Bill, thank you for pending time with us. You have a great success story. Thank you, Barry. We will definitely go for a test drive on your next visit. Download Bill's new book, The Printed Circuit Assembler's Guide to X-ray Inspection at iconnect007.com/xi.
