It's a spark that fuels my passion for innovation in electronics manufacturing. It empowers me to dive deeper into my Ph.D. research on solder joint reliability while inspiring me to lead and mentor others in our IPC community. With this recognition, I'm driven to pur- sue my dreams and contribute to shaping our industry's future." The IPC Education Foundation received $15,000 in 2024 as one of the recipients of the Opportu- nity Next Colorado Scholarship Program. This program aims to increase enrollment in Colora- do-based post-secondary educa- tion and training programs and will prioritize learners who pursue an in-demand or high-priority path- way. Scholarships are awarded to all eligible students who intend to enroll at a service provider to pursue an in-demand or high-pri- ority post-secondary pathway, or to students who intend to enroll at a service provider to participate in a registered apprenticeship pro- gram. Each scholarship award pro- vides up to a maximum $1,500 per recipient. Scholarship money can be used by the student for tuition, fees, and books. Six students were awarded: Blake Hansen, Fiona Radebaugh, Logan Tombari, Ian Ley, Sammy Haugen, and Frederick Denman. These stu- dents began their academic jour- neys at Colorado State University, Colorado School of Mines, and Uni- versity of Colorado Boulder. Fiona Radebaugh, University of Colorado Boulder: "This scholar- ship shows me that the technology industry is supporting my educa- tion and gives me confidence that I'm going into a career path where I can be successful. Thank you!" Ian Ley, Colorado School of Mines: "For me, this scholarship gets me one step closer to being able to complete college and accomplish my career dreams of working in the space industry. It also means that other people saw all the work I have put in and I'm getting to see the work pay off." Sammy Haugen, Colorado School of Mines: "This scholarship will help to ease the financial bur- den of paying for textbooks, sup- plies, and other expenses that the scholarships I received from Mines won't cover. I am grateful to have this opportunity through IPC and the EPIC Campus." ___________________________________ We believe that these opportu- nities and experiences will allow students to gain awareness and access to the electronics manu- facturing industry, helping them reach their career goals. With an ever-changing job market and end- less opportunities, it is important to keep yourself up-to-date with industry needs.
