IPC COMMUNITY 69 SPRING 2025 CAEC experts promptly analyzed the core requirements, drawing from IPC's standards tree to propose targeted improvements. At SAIC-GM, CAEC introduced IPC stan- dards and the CQI-17 evaluation system to over 100 supplier quality engineers, enhanc- ing their understanding of integrating these standards into production and quality management. Real-world case studies and interactive discussions provided actionable insights for improving processes and prod- uct reliability. At the IPC CEMAC e-Mobility Forum, CAEC members played a central role in planning content and inviting speakers. The forum received widespread acclaim for its depth and relevance. One attendee remarked, "This is the most insightful tech- nical forum I've ever attended. Each presentation gave me a clearer vision of the industry's future." Beyond 2024: Expanding New Horizons In 2025, CAEC members face opportunities and challenges, including supply chain diversification, global market expansion, and the rise of new technol- ogies. To address these, the committee has devised an ambitious plan. "Our goal is not limited to China," Vice-chair Guangxiang Lu emphasized during the kickoff meet- ing this year. "We aim to extend CAEC's influence to international markets, enabling more companies to engage in global collaboration." CAEC plans to contribute to the development of a new version of the IPC-610/001 Automotive Addendum and expand the appli- cation of automotive QML valida- tion across supply chains. Com- mittee members will explore part- nerships with leading enterprises in emerging fields like low-altitude economy, unlocking new possibili- ties for automotive electronics. "The future of automotive elec- tronics may not only be on the road but also in the skies." Chair Zhenghua Cao noted. The committee will continue organizing in-depth visits to lead- ing domestic and international supply chain companies and OEMs, fostering collaboration and pro- moting the implementation of IPC standards in intelli- gent manufacturing. Paving the Way: From Innovation to Standardization Reflecting on 2024's accomplishments, CAEC was honored with the IPC Asia Steering Committee of the Year Award. This recognition affirms its past efforts and inspires future progress. "By advancing the adop- tion of IPC standards among OEMs and suppliers, CAEC is reducing supply chain inconsistencies and complexities, opening pathways to international markets," Cao said. "Collaboration with leading enter- prises not only brings invaluable technical insights but also provides critical input for optimizing standards." Conclusion: A Story in the Making CAEC is more than just a com- mittee; it is a team shaping the future of automotive electronics. Through its actions, it demon- strates that standards are not merely rules but a force connect- ing OEMs and supply chains, driv- ing innovation across the industry. As the story continues to unfold in 2025, every industry profes- sional plays a part—whether as a standard setter, implementer, or a contributor to the supply chain. Together, they are building a pros- perous and dynamic future for the automotive electronics industry. The future has already begun. Let us look forward to more excit- ing chapters from CAEC. Sydney Xiao with Zhenghua Cao CAEC received the IPC Asia Steering Committee of the Year Award.
