Bailey's topic, "The Art of the Impossible," came alive when Chad said, "Engineering people need to know the differ- ence between designing and inventing." At that moment, I realized what I knew all along: There are very real and tangible reasons for PCB design- ers to stay between the lines of capability. When we are in "design mode," we incorporate DFX so that products can be delivered in volume at a low cost and in a reason- able time frame. On the other hand, I might have been ignoring the Paul Baileys, Happy Holdens, Elon Musks, and Jeff Bezoses of the world who remain in "invent mode."
