IPC APEX EXPO 2024 SHOW & TELL MAGAZINE by Marcy LaRont • I-Connect007 Among the many receptions and events organized to recognize subsets of our dynamic electronics community, the ever- popular Women in Electronics event on Tuesday evening at IPC APEX EXPO 2024 featured a five-person panel that filled the room with a slightly mixed audience. The topic, "Balancing Careers and Personal Life," caused many of us to wonder whether this evergreen topic would be able to deliver a fresh and engaging perspective for their pre- sentation. All working men and women under the age of 40 struggle with balancing the demands of professional lives and personal responsibilities. For those of us a bit older, the demands of growing families may be replaced by those of aging parents. Data shows that though we have certainly made progress inside and outside the modern workplace, women still bear an unfair pro- portion of familial responsibilities, even if they are the family's primary breadwinner. The panel (pictured above) was moderated by Karen McConnell of Northrup Grumman, and included Despina Davis of Boeing Defense, Paige Fiet of TTM Technologies, Christina (Tina) Landon of Naval Surface Warfare Center-Crane Division, and Debi Sharing Wisdom on Work/Life Balance Women in Electronics Reception
