170 I-CONNECT007 I REAL TIME WITH... IPC APEX EXPO 2024 SHOW & TELL MAGAZINE by Patty Goldman • I-Connect007 Last year, two awards were created to honor committee volunteers: the Hillman-Lambert Award for Volunteer of the Year and the Kes- sler-Goldman Award for Committee Leader of the Year. The names of the awards were chosen by selecting Hall of Fame members whose service to standards development is well-known and who have demonstrated the skills and principles that we believe the awardees should also have. The committee awards process was devel- oped to allow the committee leaders and members to participate and to make the committee awards more significant to the awardees. Committee members and leaders make nominations by completing a nomina- tion form and providing letters of support. Only those committee members and lead- ers who completed a project in the previous year are eligible. This year, two additional awards have been created to honor training volunteers: the Moffitt-Ventress Training Committee Mem- ber of the Year Award and the Raby-Scott Training Committee Leader of the Year Award. These two awards have been named after long-time volunteers involved with training: • Jim Moffitt (deceased) was administrator of Naval Air Warfare training/certification center and after retirement continued with his own consulting service.
